9" Plywood Saw Blade
Product Description
Professional General Purpose TCT Woodworking Saw Blade - Rip & Crosscut Combo
The Workhorse for Every Workshop
Engineered for professional carpenters and contractors who need versatility without compromise. This combination blade features a hybrid 40-tooth ATB (Alternate Top Bevel) configuration with strategically placed flat-top raker teeth, delivering efficient ripping performance on solid lumber while maintaining clean crosscuts on sheet goods. The perfect "leave-it-on-the-saw" solution for mixed cutting operations.
Key Technical Features
- Combination Tooth Geometry: 4-ATB + 1-FTG pattern (4 alternate top bevel teeth + 1 flat top raker every 5 teeth) optimizes for both ripping speed and crosscut quality
- Micro-Grain Carbide Tips: C4 grade tungsten carbide with 6% cobalt binder provides 3x longer edge retention vs. standard C2 carbide
- Positive Hook Angle (15°): Aggressive enough for efficient ripping, controlled enough for smooth crosscuts without grabbing
- Expansion Slot Design: 4 laser-cut heat expansion slots with resin-filled dampeners prevent warping during continuous cutting
- Thin-Kerf Design: 2.2mm body thickness reduces motor load by 20% - ideal for portable table saws and miter saws
- Anti-Vibration Technology: Precision tensioned steel plate (75Cr1 alloy, 44 HRC) eliminates harmonic chatter
Universal Applications
- Solid Wood Ripping: Hardwoods (oak, maple, walnut) up to 50mm thickness; Softwoods (pine, fir) up to 75mm
- Dimension Lumber: 2x4, 2x6 framing lumber for construction projects
- Sheet Goods Crosscut: Plywood, OSB, particleboard with acceptable edge quality (minimal tear-out)
- Miter Cuts: Picture frames, trim molding, window casings (not ultra-fine finish)
- Rabbet & Dado: Groove cutting for drawer bottoms and shelf standards
- Composite Decking: Wood-plastic composite (WPC) materials without melting
Performance Profile
Ripping Speed: 85% of dedicated rip blade efficiency
Crosscut Quality: 80% of dedicated crosscut blade smoothness
Chip Load: 0.2mm per tooth optimal feed rate
Power Requirement: 1.5kW (2HP) minimum for 250mm diameter
Resharpening Life: 10-12 professional sharpenings before retirement
Professional Usage Guidelines
- Height Setting: Set blade height so only 1 tooth protrudes above workpiece for crosscuts; 2-3 teeth for ripping
- Feed Rate: Let the saw cut at its own pace - forcing causes burning and carbide dulling
- Zero Clearance Insert: Use ZCI for sheet goods to prevent tear-out on bottom face
- Blade Cleaning: Remove pitch buildup every 8 hours of use with commercial blade cleaner to prevent overheating
- Alignment: Ensure fence is parallel to blade within 0.1mm to prevent binding and kickback
⚠️ Safety & Compatibility
Kickback Risk: Positive hook angle requires riving knife/splitter for ripping operations. Never free-hand cut on table saw.
Speed Limit: Never exceed maximum RPM rating. Higher RPM increases noise and vibration without improving cut quality.
Material Limitations: Not suitable for ferrous metals, masonry, or laminates without scoring first. Will damage carbide on hidden nails.
Guard Usage: Table saw blade guard must be functional. Remove only for specific dado operations.
Application
Solid Wood Ripping & Dimensioning
Primary cutting of hardwood (oak, maple, walnut) and softwood (pine, cedar) lumber for furniture components, utilizing 20-24 tooth ATB blades for fast, efficient longitudinal cuts with minimal tear-out on exit.
Plywood & Laminated Board Processing
Clean cross-cutting of birch, oak, and marine plywood sheets without face veneer chipping, using 60-80 tooth TCG or Hi-ATB configurations to prevent splintering on both top and bottom surfaces.
MDF & Particleboard Fabrication
Precision cutting of medium-density fiberboard and chipboard for cabinet carcasses and shelving, where 40-tooth general purpose blades provide chip-free edges without sealing requirements.
Laminate & Melamine Surfacing
Cutting pre-finished decorative laminates (HPL) and melamine-faced boards for kitchen countertops and furniture, requiring 96-tooth Hi-ATB triple-chip geometry to eliminate chipping on brittle surface layers.
Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) Trimming
Sizing aluminum-plastic composite panels for signage and architectural facades, using negative hook angle (-5°) TCG blades to prevent grabbing while cutting through metal skin and plastic core simultaneously.
