14" Cold Crew Saw Blade
Product Description
Professional TCT Cold Cut Saw Blade for Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Metals
Revolutionary Shear-Cutting Technology for Metal Fabrication
Unlike conventional abrasive cut-off wheels that grind through metal with friction and heat, this Tungsten Carbide Tipped (TCT) cold cut saw blade utilizes true shear-cutting action at low speeds (1,000-3,000 RPM). The result is a cool-to-touch, mirror-finish cut with no heat-affected zone (HAZ), no sparks, and no burnt edges—while delivering 50-100x longer tool life than disposable abrasives.
Key Technology Features
- TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) Technology: C4/C6 micro-grain tungsten carbide teeth brazed to hardened alloy steel body, resharpenable 10-15 times for extended service life
- True Cold Cutting: Shearing action keeps workpiece temperature below 100°C, preventing thermal distortion and metallurgical changes in steel
- TCG Tooth Geometry: Triple Chip Grind with negative hook angle (-5° to -10°) prevents grabbing and delivers burr-free cuts on hollow profiles and solid stock
- Spark-Free Operation: Eliminates dangerous incandescent sparks and abrasive dust, creating a safer workshop environment
- Heavy-Duty Plate: 2.0-2.5mm thick SKS5 or 75Cr1 steel plate (42-46 HRC) with laser-cut expansion slots to prevent warping and vibration
- Multi-Material Versatility: Single blade cuts mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and plastics without cross-contamination

Tooth Count Selection Guide
- 36-40 Teeth: Aggressive cutting of thick solid stock (angle iron, channel steel, thick-walled tubing). Fastest cut speed, slightly rougher finish.
- 48-54 Teeth: General purpose fabrication. Best balance of speed and finish for mixed materials including mild steel and aluminum.
- 60-66 Teeth: Stainless steel and thin-walled tubing (1-3mm wall thickness). Prevents tooth breakage on hollow sections.
- 80+ Teeth: Precision finish work, sheet metal, and thin profiles. Produces near-mirror finish on steel plates.
Primary Applications
Cutting I-beams, H-beams, angle iron, channel steel, and square tubing for construction projects. No heat distortion maintains structural integrity.
304 and 316 stainless pipes, handrails, kitchen equipment, and pharmaceutical fittings. No heat tint or carbon contamination.
Cutting muffler pipes, chassis components, and suspension parts. Clean cuts allow immediate welding without grinding prep.
Cutting rebar, fence posts, and metal roofing. Spark-free operation safe for demolition sites with combustible materials.
Aluminum extrusions, copper bus bars, brass fittings. TCG grind prevents chip welding common with aluminum.
Shaft cutting, tool steel, and mechanical components where heat treatment must not be compromised.
Saw Compatibility
Compatible Machines: Evolution cold cut saws, DeWalt metal cutting saws, Makita LC1230, Milwaukee metal circular saws, FEIN sluggers, JET cold saws, and any low-speed, high-torque metal cutting circular saw (1,000-3,000 RPM).
NOT Compatible: High-speed abrasive cut-off saws (4,000+ RPM), standard wood circular saws (insufficient torque), or miter saws designed for wood.
Professional Cutting Technique
- Speed Setting: Use lowest speed setting for material thickness over 6mm. Higher speeds OK for thin sheet metal.
- Let It Feed: Apply steady, moderate pressure. Do not force the blade—let the carbide teeth shear the metal. Forcing causes vibration and premature dulling.
- Chip Evacuation: Ensure chips clear the cut line. Packed chips cause friction heat and blade binding.
- Coolant Use: For continuous production cutting of stainless or tool steel, use mist coolant to extend blade life by 40%.
- Support the Material: Prevent the cut-off piece from pinching the blade as the cut completes—this causes tooth loss.
- No Side Pressure: This is a cutting blade, not a grinding wheel. Never push sideways against the blade.
Resharpening & Maintenance
Unlike disposable abrasives, TCT cold cut blades can be professionally resharpened:
- Resharpening Life: 10-15 times before carbide tips are consumed
- When to Sharpen: When cutting time increases by 30% or burr becomes excessive
- Process: Professional diamond wheel grinding of carbide face only (do not touch steel plate)
- Chip Repair: Individual broken carbide teeth can be replaced by professional sharpening services
- Storage: Store clean and dry. Apply light oil to steel plate (not teeth) to prevent rust.
⚠️ Critical Safety Information
Speed Warning: Never exceed maximum RPM rating. Blade can shatter if used on high-speed saws (abrasive cut-off saws running 5,000+ RPM).
Tooth Engagement: Ensure at least 3 teeth are in contact with material at all times. Using 80T blade on 10mm solid stock causes tooth breakage.
Pinch Hazard: Secure material so the falling piece cannot close the kerf and grab the blade.
Guard Use: Never operate without blade guard. Even though sparks are minimal, flying chips can cause injury.
Wear: Check for cracked carbide tips before each use. A cracked tooth can fly off during cutting.
Performance Benchmarks
