Tips for Long Blade Life
- Make two 25 mm passes instead of one 50 mm pass on hard concrete.
- Let the blade spin free for 10 seconds every 30–60 seconds of dry cutting to cool.
- Match bond to material: softer bond for hard concrete, harder bond for abrasive block.
FAQ
How deep can a 7 inch diamond blade cut?
About 50–55 mm on an angle grinder, slightly less with some guards. For deeper cuts step up to a 9" blade or a cut-off saw.
Can a 7 inch diamond blade cut asphalt?
Occasionally, yes — but asphalt is highly abrasive. For regular asphalt work use a dedicated asphalt blade with undercut protection.
Is 180 mm the same as 7 inch?
Effectively yes (7" = 177.8 mm). 180 mm blades fit all 7" grinder guards.
