Stainless Steel Optimization
Unlike brown alumina, zirconia won't contaminate stainless steel surfaces with iron particles that cause rust spots later. The cooler cutting prevents "blueing" (heat tint) on sensitive finishes. Recommended for food-grade equipment, pharmaceutical piping, and marine grade 316 stainless.
Performance Comparison
Lasts 2-3x longer than brown fused alumina on stainless steel. Maintains 85% of initial cut rate even at 70% wear. While 40% more expensive per disc than BFA, delivers 60% lower cost-per-finished-part on tough alloys.
Target Materials
304/316 Stainless steel, Inconel, Titanium, Tool steel, High-carbon steel, Cast iron, Aluminum (anti-loading), Bronze, and Brass. Avoid using on very soft woods or plastics (overkill).
