Glass Cutting Disc
Product Description
Glass King Ultra-Thin Diamond Blade - Chip-Free Glass & Crystal Cutting
Ultra-Precision for Fragile Materials
Specifically engineered for professional glaziers, stained glass artists, and mirror installers who demand perfection. At just 1.2mm-1.6mm thick with a continuous diamond rim, the Glass King produces clean, chip-free cuts in glass, mirror, crystal, and glazed ceramics. The specialized bond system prevents the chipping and cracking that ruin expensive materials.
Key Features
- Ultra-Thin Kerf: 1.2mm-1.6mm thickness minimizes material loss and cutting resistance
- Continuous Rim Design: No segments means zero chipping at entry and exit points
- Fine Diamond Grit: 150/180# mesh for grinding rather than chipping action
- Micro-Vibration Core: Laser-cut tension slots eliminate harmonic vibration that cracks glass
- Wet/Dry Capability: Works dry for quick cuts, wet for production work (water extends life 3x)
- Side Protection: Narrow rim with reinforced core prevents blade flexing in deep cuts

Compatible Materials
- Float Glass: Clear, tinted, and patterned window glass up to 12mm thickness
- Mirrors: Silver-backed glass without damaging reflective coating
- Stained Glass: Lead came work and copper foil technique preparation
- Crystal & Optical: Lead crystal glassware, optical glass (slow feed required)
- Glazed Ceramics: Porcelain tile, ceramic bathroom fixtures
- Glass Blocks: Ventilation blocks and decorative glass brick
Professional Glass Cutting Method
- Score First: For straight cuts, score with glass cutter first, then use blade to cut through from opposite side
- Wet Cutting: Use water feed or sponge continuously - glass dust is hazardous and causes overheating
- Low Speed: Reduce grinder to 8,000-10,000 RPM - high speed causes thermal cracking
- Light Pressure: Let diamond grit grind through - heavy pressure causes blade flex and glass breakage
- Support Fully: Glass must be fully supported on both sides of cut line to prevent snapping
- Face Down: Cut with finished face down so any minor chipping occurs on back side
Specialized Applications
- Sink Holes: Cutting holes in glass countertops for faucets (plunge cutting capable)
- Notching: Creating notches in mirror for electrical outlets
- Radius Cuts: Smooth curved cuts for custom shower enclosures
- Laminated Glass: Cuts through PVB interlayer without grabbing (slow speed required)
- Glass Art: Detailed shaping for glass sculptures and fusing projects
⚠️ Glass Cutting Safety
Sharp Fragments: Glass chips are razor sharp. Wear cut-resistant gloves, not just standard work gloves
Eye Protection: Full face shield mandatory - glass shards can fly upward
Silica Dust: Glass dust causes silicosis. Wet cutting is mandatory for health protection
Tempered Glass: Do not attempt to cut tempered glass - it will explode into small pieces
Blade Flex: Ultra-thin blades can flex into glass and crack it. Maintain perfect alignment
Troubleshooting Guide
- Chipping: Increase water flow, reduce RPM, or check for damaged rim
- Cracking: Workpiece unsupported or blade speed too high
- Slow Cutting: Diamond rim glazed - dress blade by cutting soft brick or dressing stone
- Overheating: Insufficient water - glass will show heat cracks (spider webbing)
Professional Packaging
Each Glass King blade ships in rigid plastic clamshell to prevent damage to the thin rim. Includes safety instructions in 5 languages and PPE requirements card. Replacement blades available individually or in contractor packs of 5.
