Aluminum Saw Blade
Product Description
Industrial Aluminum & Non-Ferrous Cutting Saw Blade - TCG Grind Design
Chip-Free Precision for Aluminum Extrusions, Plates & Profiles
Specifically engineered to solve the unique challenges of cutting gummy, non-ferrous metals. Unlike standard wood blades that clog and overheat, our aluminum cutting blade features a Triple Chip Grind (TCG) tooth geometry with negative hook angles and large gullet capacities. Delivers mirror-finish cuts in aluminum extrusions, brass, copper, and plastic composites without burring or material welding to the blade.
Key Features
- TCG (Triple Chip Grind) Tooth Design: Alternating flat raker teeth and trapezoidal teeth prevent chip welding and provide clean shear cuts
- Negative Hook Angle (-5° to -10°): Prevents aggressive "bite" that causes grabbing and kickback on non-ferrous metals
- Carbide Tips: C3/C4 micro-grain tungsten carbide resists abrasion from silicon-rich aluminum alloys
- Large Gullet Capacity: Deep, polished gullets evacuate chips rapidly to prevent re-cutting and heat buildup
- PTFE Coating: Non-stick fluoropolymer coating reduces resin buildup and friction heat
- Vibration Dampening: Laser-cut expansion slots and copper-filled plugs prevent warping and whistling
Why TCG vs. ATB (Alternate Top Bevel)?
| Feature | TCG (This Blade) | Standard ATB (Wood Blade) |
| Cutting Action | Shearing/scraping hybrid - prevents chip welding | Kerfing action - causes aluminum to gum up teeth |
| Heat Generation | Low - chips evacuate freely | High - chips pack into gullets |
| Finish Quality | Mirror finish, minimal burr | Rough, torn edges requiring deburring |
| Tooth Life | Extended - carbide protected from heat | Short - carbide cracks from heat cycling |
ATB blades load up with aluminum within seconds. TCG is mandatory for professional aluminum cutting.

Size Selection Guide
- 165mm (6-1/2") 80T: Cordless trim saws, portable aluminum siding installation
- 184mm (7-1/4") 60-80T: Standard circular saws for aluminum decking and sheet
- 250mm (10") 80-100T: Miter saws and compound saws for extrusion cutting
- 300mm (12") 100-120T: Chop saws and radial arm saws for heavy profiles
- 355mm (14") 120T: Stationary cut-off saws for industrial aluminum stock
Recommended Applications
Window frames, door thresholds, T-slot framing, heat sinks, LED profiles. The TCG grind prevents the profile walls from collapsing or burring.
Rounds, flats, and plates up to 1/2" (12mm) thickness in 6061-T6, 6063, 7075 alloys. Use slow feed rate with cutting wax.
120T version specifically for 1mm-3mm wall thickness tubes used in aerospace and automotive. Prevents wall collapse.
Brass, copper, bronze, and lead-free alloys. Excellent for plumbing fittings and electrical bus bars.
MDF, HDF, plastic laminates, ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) panels, and carbon fiber sheets.
Steel, stainless steel, or ferrous metals (will destroy carbide teeth). Do not use on nails or screws.
Optimal Cutting Parameters
| Material Thickness | Blade Speed | Feed Rate | Lubrication |
| Up to 3mm (Sheet/Trim) | Max RPM | Fast, steady push | Dry or minimal WD-40 |
| 3-6mm (Plate) | 3/4 Max RPM | Moderate | Cutting wax or stick wax recommended |
| 6-12mm (Solid/Bar) | 1/2 Max RPM | Slow, deliberate | Flood coolant or frequent wax application mandatory |
| Extrusions/Profiles | Full RPM | Fast to prevent melting | Dry or air blast for chip evacuation |
Professional Usage Tips
- Blade Height Setting: Set blade height so only 1 tooth protrudes below material. Too deep causes grabbing; too shallow causes chip recirculation.
- Chip Evacuation: Use dust collection or air blast. Packed chips cause friction welding and blade warping.
- Lubrication: For solid stock >6mm, apply cutting wax (stick or paste) to the blade before each cut. This prevents aluminum from welding to carbide teeth.
- Zero Clearance Insert: Use a zero-clearance throat plate on your saw to prevent thin aluminum sheets from dropping and grabbing.
- Clamping: Always clamp aluminum extrusions securely. Aluminum is slippery and can "climb" the blade causing kickback.
- Blade Break-in: Make 2-3 cuts in scrap aluminum at 1/2 speed before production cuts. This micro-sharpens the carbide edges.
Safety Warnings & Limitations
⚠️ NEVER cut ferrous metals (steel, iron): This blade is designed specifically for non-ferrous metals. Cutting steel will cause immediate tooth loss and dangerous projectile carbide fragments.
⚠️ Nail/Foreign Object Hazard: Even small nails in reclaimed aluminum will chip teeth. Inspect material carefully.
⚠️ Thermal Expansion: Allow blade to cool between cuts if cutting thick solid stock continuously. Overheating causes plate warping.
⚠️ Kickback Prevention: Negative hook angle reduces but doesn't eliminate kickback. Never stand directly behind the blade.
Blade Maintenance & Cleaning
Aluminum residue will eventually build up on the carbide teeth, reducing cutting efficiency. When cutting becomes difficult or burn marks appear:
- Soak blade in concentrated Simple Green or commercial blade cleaner for 15 minutes
- Scrub gently with brass brush (never steel brush - causes rust)
- Rinse with hot water and dry immediately
- Apply light oil to prevent plate rusting during storage
Resharpening: TCG teeth can be resharpened 3-4 times by professional saw sharpening services. Do not attempt to sharpen carbide with standard files.
Packaging & Certification
Individually packed in anti-corrosion VCI paper with plastic tooth guard. Includes safety warning insert in 12 languages. Certified to EN 847-1 (European tool safety standard) and ISO 9001 manufacturing standards. Each blade serialized for quality traceability.
Application
-
Aluminum Extrusions & Profiles
Ideal for cutting window frames, door thresholds, T-slot rails, and LED heat sinks. The TCG tooth design prevents thin profile walls from collapsing or burring during the cut. -
Solid Aluminum Stock
Cuts aluminum plates, bars, and rods (up to 12mm thickness) in alloys like 6061-T6 and 7075. Use with cutting wax to prevent chip welding on thick solid material. -
Architectural Fabrication
Perfect for aluminum decking, siding, roofing panels, and facade systems. Delivers clean, paint-ready edges without the tearing caused by standard wood blades. -
Non-Ferrous Metals
Also suitable for brass, copper, bronze, and lead-free alloys. Excellent for plumbing fittings, electrical bus bars, and decorative metalwork where chip-free finish matters. -
Composite Materials
Cuts Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) panels, plastic laminates, and carbon fiber sheets without melting or chipping the substrate.
